Translate…. or make a website? Both!

7 nov 2011

Miles Avison was on a client visit at the offices of Mimmin, the maker of Snowfire, in Stockholm. The task involved Team Snowfire consulting with Miles on some translation and localisation issues for the Snowfire product before a trip to New York, where the new version of Snowfire was due for launch.

This all went very smoothly. Miles helped the team with some translations and editing work. They all had some nice coffee and croussants. Miles, as a non-techy, also gave the Snowfire team some valuable feedback on usability and logic in the new system.

But then Miles was thrown a curveball; a challenge out of the blue! ”With Snowfire, you can build a Web site in 3 minutes, ” exclaimed Ditte, Creative Director at Mimmin. ”Give it a go. We’ll film you with an iPad and you can prove that it’s possible!” she continued. So Miles tried it. And Ditte filmed him with an iPad. And Miles made a simple Web site in 3 minutes. Splendid!

For the purposes of the demo, Miles made a simple site to show off his music (to see more of Miles’ hobby music moments, click here). But we may well instead turn the demo site into a new Avison Blog. Watch this space!

So, if you want a fancy, easy-to-manage website, in minutes, get Snowfire!
