Responsible translation
SOS Barnbyar, or SOS Children’s Villages, has two major charity objectives; education and healthcare to help strengthen families and communities; and sponsorship to provide children with families for life. The organisation has a presence today in 133 countries.
Avison is happy to provide translation and localisation services to SOS, so far having helped them with their work in countries like Mozambique (English and Swedish into Portuguese) and Ukraine (in this case, translation into Russian). The types of documents we have translated for the charity include; Participatory Rural Appraisals (PRAs), a methodology that helps stimulate poor, rural communities to gather and stimulate community ideas; rights documents, and reports on childhood poverty. Visit http://www.sos-barnbyar.se/ or http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/ to get a more in-depth idea of the work of this fantastic organisation.
“The reason we chose to partner with Avison was the wide range of languages they offer. As we are an international organisation, with operations in 133 countries, it’s handy to be able to turn to the same translation agency, whatever the language. With Avison, we can always count on a quick and professional, yet friendly service,” says Tonya Lilburn, Project Manager at SOS Children’s Villages.
Avison works in over 40 languages, translating, localising and rewriting documents, from apps to contracts, and training people to communicate across borders. Drop us a line if your organisation or company needs a local presence on an international marketplace.
