Avison Communication is a full service language and communication agency, offering translation/localisation, proofreading and editing/copy services, interpreting, language training, film subtitling and voiceover. Click on a product or service above for more information.
Avison has an expansive network of freelance translators with backgrounds and expertise in various fields and languages (we cover the Nordic languages, all European languages, and the major languages in the Middle East, Asia and the Far East, such as Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Persian (Farsi) and Hebrew). We operate as a translation agency, coordinating your translation projects in a professional and cost-effective manner.
Good interpreting requires qualifications and a great deal of experience. There are several types of interpreting services, but Avison works mainly with consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. Consecutive interpreting involves the interpreter first listening to the speaker(s), taking notes if necessary, and then interpreting the content or message into the target language when the speaker pauses.
Avison can help you fine tune and review your documents in their original language. We can perform a language proofread and edit, making sure the text you have created is perfect in its original language (before it goes on to be translated, if required)
If you are looking to have content translated or localised, we also have proofreading as an add-on service to translation. For editing and proofreading we charge per hour.
Copywriting & transcreation
We can also help you create a document from scratch or enhance a draft. Our copywriters have experience from different backgrounds, so with their help, your website copy, brochure content, blog post or product description can be perfectly formulated for your target audience. Perfect for marketing and advertising materials. Transcreation involves adapting content from one language to another, with special care taken to address cultural aspects in the target language. It can also be referred to as writing copy in the target language. As well as hiring copywriters, Avison uses translators with experience in copywriting, so we are able to help our clients not just translate and localise their content, but properly adapt it to the target readership by working together with the client to create something new. The final text is likely to differ from that of the original language document, but the message will be the intended one for the culture of the target readership. Advertising and marketing campaigns, for example, should always be carefully adapted when targeting different languages and cultures.
In today’s business climate, effective communication is essential. Language is an essential part of this communication. So why should you order a language & communication course from Avison? Here’s some information about the training we offer: Read more about language training services.
Short films and video clips are a common way for websites to market their products and services. If your company targets several countries, it’s a good idea for any short films you have on your site to be localised/translated for these markets. The easiest way to do this is with accurate subtitles.
